Current Events
The Current Events assignment gives students the opporuntity to connect what they are learning in the science classroom to the world around them. Students may choose any article that relates to the science concepts studied in class and that meets the criteria for this assignment.

P.O.M. Anchor Activity
The Properties of Matter Anchor Activity is a long term project that allows students to explore the connections of the science concepts learned in this module with the manufacturing of everyday products. Students work individually or in pairs to first determine the different substances that make up their product and to then understand the properties of these substances that caused them to be choosen for this particular product.

M.T.M. Anchor Activity
The Macro to Micro Anchor Activity allows students to bring together many of the differnt ideas in this module as they explain the life cycle and requirements of an organism of their choice.

Fairhaven Middle School 8th Grade Exit Project
The Fairhaven Middle School 8th Grade Exit Project provides students the opportunity to select and study a topic of their choice through which they will demonstrate their ability to meet the 8th grade performance standards. By following the Research Cycle each student will confidently and effectively demonstrate the processes and skills of thinking, writing, speaking, listening, and viewing in a 15 to 20 minute oral presentation.
