Secretary Report:

Motion: To post next month’s meeting date on the PSTA web page (unanimous).

School Directory:

The directory is “coming along” – ads are coming in.

It was reported that Sara Moreno would do the layout for the directory.  Val will find out if she can have it done by the end of the month.

Oct. 15 is the deadline for getting ads and checks in (advertising charges are $40, $60, and $100)

Treasurer’s Report:

A lot of new memberships have come in.  Susan will take care of the dues that have come in.

A lot of shirts have sold.

Counseling Fund – items for CUBS were taken out of this fund, and they should not because there is a line item in the budget for it.  Approximately $150 of last year’s counseling fund was returned.  This year we are reimbursing counselors for the fund instead of giving them the money.  Receipts need to be turned in before the last day of school.

Site Council:

Mike Schackel and Amy Kraham are the parents serving their 2nd year; Ann Welsh and Kitty Friesen are new parents for the council.

Working on a new vision statement for the school – to set the direction for the school for the next 5 years - staff starting working on it today, need parent input next.

School Board Presentation:

November 7 at FMS, 7:30-9:00

School Board does this once every 3 or more years; it is a live, mixed media production about FMS.

PSTA will take care of hospitality for this event.

Parent Advisory Committee:

Have had 2 meetings so far:

1st meeting had a speaker from WA state PTA; discussed PTA vs. PTO organizations (PTA organizations get assistance from the state level with forms, logistics, etc.

2nd meeting was organizational; setting priorities for the year.

The Presidents’ Lists:

Julie’s List:

Staff appreciation luncheon on early release day – 30 staff members came through, good participation.  There will be another one in October, perhaps on an early release day – sponsored by the PTSA together with the Sunshine Committee.
