Lawyers

Charles Blaine Sampley was born November 17, 1884. He was one of Bellingham's leading lawyers.

Born in Perry county, Indiana, he attended public school, then moved on to the University of Valparaisio, Indiana. In 1907, he came to Bellingham and began his practice here and in Lynden.

In 1908, he married Miss Laura Grimson and later had one child, Violet Grimson. He was city attorney of Lynden and served two years as Whatcom County game commissioner. He belonged to the Optimist's Club, Brotherhood of American Yeomen, United American Mechanics, and the Independant order of Odd Fellows.
